President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has disclosed the portfolios of ministers who have received clearance from the senate. This move marks a crucial step toward the formation of the new government and sets the stage for their official swearing-in.

Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman, shared insights about the imminent swearing-in ceremony during a recent press briefing. He addressed the eager anticipation surrounding the event, stating: “Gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, please on the issue of the swearing in which everyone is asking me about, we do not have a confirmed date, but what I can tell you quite authoritatively, is that very soon, very soon, you will find out. You’ll be the first to know as usual.”
Ngelale conveyed the current status of preparations, highlighting that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) was actively engaged in discussions with the president. He added, “The SGF as I speak to you is in the office of the president. I just left him and Mr. President right now to come straight to you. And the retreats, the ministerial retreat, which is multiple days that will hold before the swearing in.”
The forthcoming ministerial retreat, spanning multiple days, is a key element in the lead-up to the official swearing-in. Ngelale speculated on the timeline for the event, stating: “So let’s assume for a moment that the retreat is ready to go. It could start on the weekend. It could start on Monday. We could potentially have a swearing in by next Wednesday, or even by next Monday, depending on what they decide to do.”
