2023: Reactions trail Moghalu’s Defeat As Kachikwu Win’s ADC Presidential Ticket

A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kingsley Moghalu has been defeated in the race for the 2023 presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He was defeated by a less known media entrepreneur who is the CEO of Roots Tv Nigeria, Dumebi Kachikwu during the presidential primaries held on Wednesday by the party.

Kachikwu defeated Moghalu by polling 977 votes against Moghalu’s 589 votes. Chukwuka Monye came third with 339 votes at the primary exercise held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Following the results, Nigerians have taken to social media to express their views. Below are some of the reactions from the micro-blogging site, Twitter.

@MoghaluKingsley just lost to one Dumebi Kachikwu now in ADC primaries bringing to an end my partisan support for any candidate in 2023. I congratulate Dumebi on his win and hereby withdraw from ADC and back to my non-aligned commentator mode. I now have no horse in the 2023 race

It’s all Dollar Rain in ADC’s Presidential Primaries. Hon. Dumebi Kachikwu, Younger brother to former minister of Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu is in early lead.

Man I heard, is wooing delegates with dollars.

— Thεό Abu (@TheoAbuAgada) June 8, 2022

Yesterday, Kingsley Moghalu and Monye lost the ADC primary to Dumebi, who was able to bribe his way among the Obassnjo imposed delegates.

When we tell you, lets build an alternative together we know what we are saying.#AACTheAlternative

The fact that Dumebi Kachikwu won the ADC's presidential primaries ahead of the prominent candidates like Moghalu & Monye is a clear proof that the masses place money ahead of competence.

As we urge the people to get their PVC, we also have d duty to educate them to vote wisely.

Kingsley Moghalu and Chukwuka Monye loses ADC Presidential Primaries to Dumebi Kachikwu.

Dumebi Kachikwu – 977
Chukwuka Monye – 339
Kingsley Moghalu – 589

And to think that Monye actually did more consultations. This is the problem with delegates#ADCPresidentialPrimaries

The ADC primaries is a proof that Twitter noise doesn’t win elections.
I’m just hearing of the winner for the very first time while Monye and Moghalu were tipped to win.

My Omoooo is Omoooooed.

Who is this Dumebi that’s beating Kingsley Moghalu and Chukwuka Monye in ADC Presidential Primaries?

Lmao.

— Thεό Abu (@TheoAbuAgada) June 8, 2022

Even Kingsley Moghalu and Chukwuka Monye lost primaries to a candidate we really never heard of before. Na wa o….Nigerian politics is indeed local. Both guys sounded bright with good intentions and plans, but it seems ADC delegates saw something different 🌝🌚
